Daniel Czamanske, lawyer and former mayor of Riverside, was sworn in as the new associate circuit judge of Platte County by Gary Fenner of St. Joseph, a judge of the court of appeals.


Dearborn has a new mayor, Kent Hott, and two new aldermen, Donald Swanstone, Jr. and Fran Durham.

The United States Department of Agriculture offices in Platte City have been moved to the Village Commons Shopping Mall on Hwy. 92 (Branch Street) next to Comfort Inn. The Platte Soil and Water Conservation District, Soil Conservation Service and Farmers Home Administration offices are next to Wilson Floor Coverings.


Platte City United Methodist Church will be the scene of a celebration of 150 years as a congregation on Heritage Sunday, April 26. The congregation will observe the event with only one service beginning with the ringing of the bell at 9:15 a.m. Following a potluck luncheon, family games of the 1800s will be played.


Norma Sherry, a sales associate with ERA Martin House Realty in Platte City, has topped the $4 million mark in sales for 1991. She is the first associate with ERA Martin House Realty to achieve more than $4 million in sales.,
