Mr. and Mrs. Bill Hoskins of Platte City are pleased to announce the wedding date of their daughter, Sherry Lynn, to Mr. Rex W. Wright, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Wright, also of Platte City. The wedding is being planned for May 21.
John Orril Poindexter, 68, of 7101 NW Country Club Lane, died Tuesday at the home. He was born in Urich, Mo. and had lived here 36 years. He worked in the Hallmark Cards, Inc. receiving department 29 years before he retired in 1972. He was a Methodist. Services were held Friday afternoon at the Rollins Chapel, Platte City, with burial in the Oak Lawn Cemetery, Maysville.
There has been a 19 percent decrease in the number of traffic deaths in Missouri during the first quarter this year as compared to the same period in 1976. Missouri State Highway Patrol reports that 201 persons lost their lives in traffic during the first three months of this year. From Jan. 1 through March 31, 1976, 249 traffic fatalities were recorded in Missouri.
The time is approaching for all children in the Platte City area to register for the Cystic Fibrosis Bike-a-Thon to be held on the access road southeast of Platte City, on Saturday, May 7, beginning at 9 a.m.
