Mr. and Mrs. Charles Jackson, Edgerton, announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Jean Ellen, to Stan McMain, son of Mr. and Mrs. Leonard McMain, Kansas City.


The membership of the Platte Purchase Chapter DAR and the Platte County Historical Society toured the Krause Mansion, casting their votes on whether to purchase the property with the Ben Ferrel trust money, for a county museum. One hundred and eighteen votes were cast, all affirmative.

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wayne Plaster of Lebanon, Mo., announce the engagement of their daughter, Cheryl Jean, to Joseph Leon Schaefer, son of Mr. and Mrs. Richard Phillip Schaefer of Parkville.


Monday night, March 21, there will be a recital presented by the high school students participating in this year’s vocal music contest at William Jewell College. The purpose of the recital is to give the students a chance to perform their music in front of an audience before contest.


Mrs. Olive DeMasters had as her guest Sunday her nephew, W. Ralph Shaw, from Springfield, Mo.
