Kellerman deserves Good Citizen Award

EDITOR:

I wish I could nominate my wife Elaine Kellerman for one of Nan Johnston’s “Good Citizen Awards” that are part of the Parkville Board of Aldermen’s agenda.

In October of 2020, Elaine asked the current mayor Nan Johnston to step down after the mayor’s DUI. The board of aldermen turned their cheeks the other way at that meeting. After that board of aldermen meeting, Elaine was determined to do some thing more. Elaine researched existing Sunshine records and made Sunshine requests. She developed an overwhelming ethics complaint against the mayor based mostly on the mayor’s own words in her emails.

The ethics complaint was filed in October, 2021, one year after Elaine appeared before the board of aldermen asking them to do something. And here we are today with the Parkville Ethics Commison finding eight violations against the mayor.

Hopefully, the board of aldermen will now realize that had they acted back in October, 2021 none of this might have happened.

I really don’t think Nan Johnston will pick Elaine Kellerman for the Good Citizen Award, but I am nominating her anyway as she truly is a good citizen and I love her.
