Paul Parrett’s business, Parrett Service Station, has been in service for 30 years.


Mrs. Lucile L. Jones of Platte City announces the marriage of her daughter, Dorothy J. Smither, to Larry E. Lundy on Saturday evening, Feb. 26, 1977 at the Platte City First United Methodist Church. Mr. Lundy is the son of Mrs. Ruby Lundy of Weston.

Mr. and Mrs. Larry Hendrix announce the birth of a son, born Friday morning, at the Spelman Memorial Hospital. He weighed eight pounds, 21 ounces and was 21 inches long. He has been named Joshen.

Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Ford celebrated their golden wedding anniversary Saturday, Feb. 26 at their home in Kansas City.


Two century old homes in Barry were demolished by bulldozers last week. They were the A.J. McCullough home, east of the general store, and the home for more than 60 years of the late Dr. Alton and his family.
