45 Years Ago–February 25, 1977

Mr. and Mrs. Lee Hull of Weston announce the birth of their daughter on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 1977 at the Cushing Memorial Hospital in Leavenworth.


The Platte City basketball team won the Northwest 11 Conference title Friday night by defeating Lathrop 100-71. This is the first title for Platte City in 23 years. They hold an overall record of 17-8 with nine wins against one loss in Northwest Missouri 11 Conference play.


Frank Downing, Jr. has sold his Skelly Oil Station to Halferty-Roberts, Inc. It will be managed by Curtis Bottom. Mr. Roberts said they hope to increase the storage capacity at the Skelly Plant.


Larry Ray Richardson and Cheri Edlin were united in marriage Friday evening at the Baptist Church in Camden Point with the immediate families present.


Mr. and Mrs. Milo E. Foster are celebrating their golden anniversary with an open house on Sunday, March 6, 1977. Their children include Rev. Ernest Foster of Independence, Charles Foster of Gashland, Joe Foster of Parkville, and Evagene Stefford of Benicia, Calif.


Mr. and Mrs. Donald Pine have moved to their farm south of Camden Point that they purchased from Mr. and Mrs. Bert Stubbs.
