Jason Maki, the man who was awarded a $195,000 settlement from the City of Parkville in a legal dispute over public records requests, will be giving testimony at a hearing held by the Parkville Ethics Commission.

Maki will be giving testimony in the meeting that is scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 23, at Parkville City Hall. The meeting will be livestreamed on the city’s website at parkvillemo.gov/government/city-meetings/

The city’s ethics commission was recently convened to take up a detailed ethics complaint against Parkville Mayor Nan Johnston. Also giving testimony on Wednesday night will be Elaine Kellerman, the Parkville resident who filed the ethics complaint against the mayor.

The Parkville Ethics Commission has been investigating behavior alleging Johnston broke the city’s ethics code and violated code governing the conduct and expected behavior of those serving in public office. The complaint, written by Kellerman, alleges Johnston broke the law and violated the city’s ethics code in several instances, and asks for her removal from office.
