Crews will be busy with snow plows

Platte County residents who reside within the city limits of Kansas City take note: The City of Kansas City says it will not be offering trash and recycling collection today and tomorrow so work crew drivers are available to plow snow.

New traffic pattern for US 169 to begin in the spring

.Wednesday night: 300 drivers spent the day and night shifts pretreating roads with salt.

.Thursday: Day shift crews will run snow plow operations all day on all route.

.Thursday night: Crews will return to continue salting and plowing operations through the night.

Impacts to City Services:

Trash and recycling collection will be suspended Thursday, Feb. 17 and Friday, Feb. 18 so these drivers are available to plow snow. Residents with Thursday and Friday trash pickup days will be allowed to place four bags out next week. Curbside recycling is unlimited.

City-owned parking garages will be open free of charge from today until Friday at 3 p.m. to get vehicles off the street before the storm and for more effective snow plowing downtown. Use the QR code as you enter any participating city-owned parking garage to receive a validated parking ticket. FREE Parking is available at the following
