Boy, talk about a guy who can’t read the room. How about the guy who ran onto the field at the Chiefs game on Sunday night, immediately before the greatest ending to a football game most of us have ever seen? That dude should be arrested again this week just for being dumb; he’s probably still drunk as well.
The guy was wearing a number 87 jersey and I would argue that it was a Tamarick Vanover jersey and not Travis Kelce. You believe what you want.
Arrowhead holds about 75,000 people. Approximately 250,000 will claim to have been there last Sunday night.
Speaking of Tamarick, he is due to be sentenced by a federal judge this month. Appears he moved on from returning kicks in the NFL to a little health care fraud. Some career paths are less linear than you would like. Be interesting how that gets reported to LinkedIn.
As has been the case for a long time, real estate is going to be an interesting year in 2022. The inventory levels are incredibly low. This is creating less sales activity of late and increasing prices. Inventory was low in 2020, but it’s worse now. Per the Kansas City Realtor Association, Platte County had 217 sales in December of 2020. That dropped to 165 in 2021. The inventory of homes available in 2020 was 199 and dropped to 143 in 2021. That equals a .8-month supply. That’s historically low.
The “good” part is the average sales price in December of 2021 vs 2020 was $386,417 to $317,564 for Platte County. Many would question if that is good, as that is fast approaching unaffordable for many.
It seems safe to assume it would take months for inventory to reach some form of normal, so you can expect a spring and summer of wild activity again.
I will point out that Platte County boasts one of the prime estates that remains available despite the low inventory. An 84-acre estate is on the market for $2.5 million. Don’t balk yet. This place out on Grass Pad Road features a driveway that doubles as an air strip, to pair with the new hangar where you can put your new airplane. The place boasts a “caterer’s kitchen,” in case you have a caterer at your house often enough that they might need their own cook space.
I’m not sure what else you could need. A runway, a hangar and a caterer’s kitchen are the things that are missing in most of our lives. Go talk to your banker.
That banker talk reminded me to share this with you. I try not to offer you life advice very often, but my liberal, hippy sister and I agreed on something a couple of weeks ago and that is rare. I mean rare. It’s like AOC and Ted Cruz having dinner and a movie rare.
We agreed that the primary professionals in your life should be young enough not to retire before you’re done needing their services. I was speaking about bankers, and she was speaking about doctors, but that is beside the point. The point is that don’t get bankers or doctors that are going to retire in the middle of your life. Get them young enough that their professional life won’t be shorter than your need, but old enough to know what they’re doing.
I’ve added this to my brief list of life advice.
1) Don’t buy generic potato chips or beer
And
2) Get age-appropriate doctors and bankers
