The Missouri Department of Transportation has announced the completion of the new roundabout at Route 92 and 45 Spur in Platte County.

The multiple phase project began in the spring of 2021 and was completed in late fall of 2021. This project was funded by MoDOT at a cost of $1,872,044.

This was all part of a project to build a new roundabout at Hwy. 92 and 45 Spur following a 2016 traffic study conducted on the Hwy. 92 Centennial Bridge to Leavenworth. The newly constructed roundabout will allow citizens to access the local Cenex gas station from eastbound and westbound Hwy. 92.

A roundabout is an intersection that uses a circular junction instead of stoplights or stop signs to manage traffic flow. Instead of every car stopping, they enter the roundabout slowly, and traffic moves almost continuously.
