45 Years Ago–November 26, 1976

The Landmark office force was honored last Wednesday evening on the Channel 4 TV evening news. They were pictured at work in the oldest paper in Missouri. Mrs. Lucile L. Jones, editor, was giving an interview and setting some handset type. Roland Giffee was busy running the paper press and Mary Hymer was at the linotype machine.

Navy Air Controlman Third Class Stephen Lee Caulfield, son of Mr. and Mrs. Bill W. Caulfield of Parkville, has reported for duty aboard the aircraft carrier USS John F. Kennedy.


The Tobacco Market at Weston opened Monday with a high of $1.20 per pound. This is a record high price per pound.


Mr. and Mrs. Phil Bohn of Chillicothe visited Mrs. Lucile Jones last Thursday.
