Larry Reeves, former Platte County Sheriff, and John R. Denney have been named co-county chairmen for Charlie Broomfield of Platte County. Broomfield, a former high school teacher an four-term state representative, is seeking the Democratic nomination to the United States House of Representatives from the Sixth District.


Saint Columban’s Catholic Church, Chillicothe, was the scene June 12, 1976 of the marriage of Miss Elise Hetzel and Michael Wayne Maberry. The couple’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Wayne E. Hetzel, Platte City, and Mr. and Mrs. Bob Maberry, Wheeling, Mo.

Mr. and Mrs. Carl Stamps returned home last week from a two week trip to Alaska. They visited most of the major cities including Katzabue.


Miss Marie Gonzales, an AFS student from Colombia, South America, visited Mr. and Mrs. Charles McClain, Grace Ann and Kathleen last week.


On Tuesday, July 6, 1976 there will be an open countywide meeting to discuss the upcoming proposal to renovate and add to the present Platte County Courthouse structure. The meeting will be in the circuit courtroom on the second floor of the courthouse. Included in the proposal will be the implementation of a new jail facility within the courthouse addition. All interested Platte Countians are heartily urged to come to Platte City and participate in this important meeting.
