More than 80 grant applications for CARES grants were approved by the Platte County Commission at a meeting held April 26.
CARES (Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security Act) grants are awarded using federal dollars. Platte County received $12.2 million in CARES funding and has used the vast majority of that to award to businesses deemed to be negatively impacted by COVID-19 and the government-ordered shutdown.
The following list of 79 grant awards approved last month range from $25,000 to $29,000. The county commission did not immediately provide exact amounts on each. The Landmark obtained that information by later submitting a request through the Missouri Sunshine Law.
