A downtown Wine Walk special event sponsored by The Farmers House has received approval from the City of Platte City.
The city has okayed a special event permit for Thursday, June 3 from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
During the Wine Walk, participants will visit pre-determined businesses to sample wines. Participants will be allowed to consume and carry alcohol inside the special event perimeter.
Live music is also planned. The live music will take place in the patio area outside the Farmers House at the corner of Third and Main Street.
Main Street from Fourth to Second Street will be closed, as will Third Street from Ferrel to the north side of Main from 5-9 p.m. The city will supply barricades and trash receptacles.
Per the city’s permit, alcohol may only be served and consumed within the special event perimeter only on city streets and sidewalks and must be in plastic cups.
The applicant is responsible for ensuring all vendors/businesses serving alcohol have appropriate city and state alcohol licenses or permits and that service is in compliance with city and state alcohol regulations. The applicant is also responsible for contacting the State of Missouri Liquor Control office to ensure that all state liquor license permitting is completed for the event.
