The Missouri Department of Transportation has closed the southbound ramp from I-29 to Hwy. 92 at Platte City from now until Tuesday, June 1 or possibly longer for interchange improvement work. All work is weather dependent.
This is all part of a project to improve the intersection at Prairie View Road and Running Horse Road to the city limits, just east of I-29. Improvements include adding additional turn lanes, pedestrian crosswalks, and new signals. Completion is expected in the fall of 2021.
MoDOT reminds motorists to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
