30 Years Ago–March 8, 1991

The Platte County R-3 High School Concert and Jazz Bands will present a concert Thursday, March 14. The program, under the direction of Wendell Doyle, will feature two selections which the concert bands will be performing at the district music festival in April, as well as other selections.


Two candidates will vie for the ward one post on the board of aldermen in the April 2 Platte City election. They are Dennis Meyer, the incumbent ward one alderman, and William H. Williams, a former Platte City mayor and alderman.


The season came to an end for the Platte County boys basketball team with a semifinal round loss against Marshall by a 44-26 score Thursday night.


The building trades class at the Platte County Vo-Tech School in Platte City is learning some valuable lessons by constructing a large gazebo in the classroom shop.


Jaret Saders and Candice Montague have been crowned American Field Service (AFS) king and queen at Platte County R-3 High School in Platte City. The coronation at a dance Saturday night highlighted the week of activities honoring AFS students.
