Mr. and Mrs. Forrest Anderson of Dearborn announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter Elaine to David Applebury, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Applebury of Chillicothe.


Mr. and Mrs. O.C. Cogdill, rural Platte City, celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Christmas Day. Both anniversary wishes and Christmas dinner were enjoyed at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Rawlings and sons.

Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Babcock of Kansas City, Mo. announce the engagement of their daughter, Dorothy Christine Babcock, to David William Eaton, of Springfield, Mo.


Mrs. Susan Hudson of Weston, has been named to Missouri’s Affirmative Action Committee, Democratic State Party Chairman James E. Spain announced.


Mr. and Mrs. Junior E. Shanks are celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary on Friday, Jan. 2 with a family dinner at a favorite café. They married in 1951.


Mrs. Herman Kelley had a dinner at her home Sunday. Sixty members of the family were present. There was Christmas gift exchange for the children.
