Bob and Mary Ruth Peck, Platte City, have announced the engagement of their daughter to John Joseph Allen Collier, son of Raymond and Charlotte Slapper, Weston.


Platte County’s dream football season came to a bittersweet ending last week when the Pirates dropped a 14-7 decision to O’Hara of Kansas City in the first round of the 3A state playoffs.

The North Platte R-1 High School Panthers’ Fall Athletic Banquet will be held at 7 p.m. Nov. 16 at the high school gym at Dearborn. Volleyball and football awards for the 1990 season will be presented following a potluck dinner.


A sign announces the annual Victorian Christmas to be held at the Platte County Ben Ferrel Museum. Tours of the 1882 mansion will be Friday, Nov. 30 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.


Mr. and Mrs. Bill Smith and Joan Turner, Kansas City, Kan. and Mr. and Mrs. Claude Boydston, Faucett, visited with Marion and Bea Snook Friday evening. Later, all attended the Union Mill Opry.
