Last Wednesday marked the official count date for enrollment of the Platte County R-3 School District. According to Superintendent Dr. Mark Harpst, the official numbers for the district this school year came in at 2,725 students an increase in enrollment of 180 kids over the 2004-05 year.
A one-vehicle rollover accident blocked the northbound lanes of Interstate 29 just south of the Camden Point exit Tuesday morning about 8:45 a.m. The driver of a Ford Excursion apparently lost control of his vehicle and it overturned, ending up in the left hand side of the northbound lanes. A spokesperson for Troop A of the Missouri State Highway Patrol could not identify the man injured in the crash, as the trooper who worked the accident had not yet filed his report as of Wednesday morning.
Parkville’s Board of Aldermen broke from its goal setting session on Tuesday night at the Train Depot to call its regularly scheduled meeting, albeit an abridged version, to order. It was a far-sighted approach to develop an expansive vision for the direction which staff and the city’s elected and appointed leaders would like to see the City of Parkville take in the next five to 10 years. The city’s primary goal is to welcome the phenomenal growth that it has seen in recent years while maintaining the city’s ambience that captures its rich history.
