End of an era. Next Friday, Oct. 9 is the scheduled final day of operation for this banking facility that has served the Platte City community for four decades. The structure, located at Hwy. 92 near Bello Mondo Drive, is a former Liberty Savings Bank which later became known as BankLiberty. For the past year it has been a Central Bank of the Midwest location, after Central purchased BankLiberty. Central Bank of the Midwest, which has also recently bought Platte Valley Bank, has told customers of the branch that it will close this location at 5 p.m. on Oct. 9 and combine it with Central’s main location in Platte City, which is the former Platte Valley Bank at 2400 NW Prairie View. It is not yet known what the future holds for this structure.
