Authorities have now identified a man whose body was found last week in a pond in the area of NW 64th St. and N. Cosby Avenue, Kansas City in Platte County.

Kansas City police say the man has been identified as Kevin Sondree, age 41, of Kansas City. Doaa El-Ashkar, spokesperson for the Kansas City Police Department, told The Landmark that police at this time do not suspect foul play in Sondree’s death. The cause of death is still under investigation, El-Ashkar said.

The body was found about 8:30 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 7 in the pond just east of the Community America Bank at 6390 N. Cosby. Police said a passerby observed a lifeless body floating face down in the water. The Kansas City Fire Department responded, retrieved the body from the pond and confirmed the person to be deceased, police said.

Public records viewed by The Landmark indicate previous addresses for Kevin Sondree in Springfield, Mo. and “Streets of Columbia, Mo.”
