Miss Norma Shanks was honored with a bridal shower on Saturday afternoon, July 19, given by Miss Helen Coon and Miss Kim Bowers.


Coronation ceremonies for the 1975 Platte County Fair Queen opened the 112th annual Platte County Fair Wednesday night. Miss Jan Wren, 1974 queen, crowned Miss Kimberly Simmons 1975 queen after all the contestants were presented to the crowd. Miss Simmons is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Simmons. She is presently employed at the KCI Airport as a mini-bus driver. She plans to attend the University of Texas this fall.

Ray Hyde, Platte County senior, has extended his wrestling credentials this summer. At present he is in Iowa City, Iowa competing in the National Junior AAU Wrestling Tournament.


Mr. and Mrs. Russell McDaniel entertained the Adult 4 Dept. of the Park Hill Baptist Church at their beautiful country home, Saturday evening, July 12 for the annual picnic. Many were in attendance to enjoy the delicious food and cool summer evening.


A large crowd attended the opening night of the 112th Platte County Fair and watched the Demolition Derby when Ronnie Pine won 1st place, Don Pine 2nd place, and Bob Lindsey 3rd place, Pro Heat; in the Feature Heat, Larry Canole won 1st, Jim Hall 2nd, and Ronnie Martin 3rd.
