Cruise Holidays of Kansas City (Comfort Cruises, Inc) was a big winner when the Platte County Commission handed out more grant money on Friday, July 24.
Platte County Commissioners Ron Schieber, John Elliott and Dagmar Wood took action to give Cruise Holidays $226,540 in grant dollars.
Money being given out is part of the $12 million in federal dollars Platte County has in its coffers as a result of a coronavirus relief distribution approved by Congress, commonly known as the CARES Act. The federal government made the distribution based on population.
Cruise Holidays, which has a legal name of Comfort Cruises, Inc., is located at 7000 NW Prairie View Rd, Ste. 200, Kansas City in Platte County. Business owners listed on the application are Mark and Mimi Comfort.
Others awarded grants by the county commissioners on Friday, July 24:

*A-2 Creative Group doing business as Main Street Inn, $6,000.
*KC Music LLC, doing business as KC Music Academy, $5,500.
*Educational Therapy Center, LLC, $997.
*Ranger Trophies, LLC, $20,000.

*J2G21, LLC, Aplomb Martial Arts of Parkville, $7,046.35.
Ron Schieber, presiding commissioner, on Monday said more than 150 grant requests have been submitted, amounting to more than $6.6 million of requests.
The county commission has final say in determining the grant awards. Two hotels in the KCI corridor have asked for nearly half a million dollars each.
