45 Years Ago–July 11, 1975

Mrs. Cleta Decker and the late Virgil Decker of Lee’s Summit, announce the engagement of their daughter, Jacqueline Decker, to Ronald Kamphefner, son of Mr. and Mrs. Rolly Kamphefner of Farley. The wedding will take place on August 8, 1975 at 7:30p.m. at the Pleasant Grove Bible Church, Kansas City.


Platte City resident, Rev. Kenneth Lutgen, Jr., pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Platte City, has been named to lead the 1975 Heart of American United Way campaign in Platte County.


The Kansas City International Bank and Trust Company recently announced the addition of two directors to its board. Elected to serve on the board were William K. Hollingsworth of Kansas City, and John M. Reineke of Parkville.


A miscellaneous shower will be given Saturday evening at the church for Mr. and Mrs. Bob Lusigan whose home and contents were burned. Nothing was saved.


The Bantam Football League of Dearborn is sponsoring a men’s baseball tournament at Dean Memorial Park. Sixteen teams will vie for honors in games played on Friday night, Saturday, and Sunday.


John Ervin, special services engineer for United Telephone Company in Ferrelview, has been promoted to the position of plant supervisor. Ervin has been employed by United Telephone for 3 years as special services engineer. He and his wife Carol and two children currently reside in Kearney, Mo. His new duties will begin July 13, 1975.
