EDITOR:
I would ask the Platte County Health Department to re-evaluate the order it passed that prohibits the selling of prepared foods and self serve drinks.
It makes no sense that you can’t go to the QuikTrip in Platte City and get a self serve coffee. The QT in North Kansas City has been serving self serve drinks for the past two weeks.
Also, it seems like the county order goes beyond what the governor’s executive order 20-05 lays out which specifically refers to prohibiting the sale of un-prepared foods. Self serve drinks do not fall into this category.
I find it hard to believe that serving self serve drinks constitute some sort of health risk.
