The West Platte R-2 Board of Education reorganized Monday night following the election. Kenny Clemens was again named president and Cheryl Schimmel was again named vice president. The board meeting was cut short because one of the members had to leave early, so the meeting will be continued at 7:30 p.m. April 17 in the superintendent’s office.

Mike and Jan Miller have purchased the Platte Professional Pharmacy and the new name is Miller Professional Pharmacy. Ten years ago the pharmacy opened with Miller as the manager. He states that he has enjoyed serving the community and has strived to maintain a professional facility offering care and respect for his customers’ needs. Two years ago the pharmacy was computerized to offer convenience customers in insurance billings and to monitor allergies and drug interactions. The pharmacy will continue to have evening hours Monday, Tuesday and Thursday for customer convenience and deliveries will be made in Platte City and Tracy.
