The story is old but the perspective is updated and brought into sharp focus by the film The Gospel Road to be shown on Sunday, April 6 at Tracy Baptist Church. The showing will begin at 7 p.m. The Gospel Road, distributed by World Wide Pictures, was conceived and produced by Johnny Cash and his wife, June Carter Cash, whose desire was to tell the story of Jesus Christ in a realistic and meaningful way.

Mrs Randy Broyles, chairperson of the Platte County Cancer Crusade, Mrs. Dick Goforth, Mrs. Ron Ziemba, Miss Belle Hughes, Miss Alice Smith and Mrs. John Patton were among some 300 people who attended the 1975 Cancer Crusade Kickoff Luncheon at the Plaza Inn on April 1. The master of ceremonies was Bruce Rice, sports director, KCMO-TV. Music was provided by Tony Dipardo and his “Zing” Band. Guest speaker was Mrs. Audrey Trotter, star of movies and television and presently starring in the television show known as Medical Center.
