Platte City Street Market Fair

Hope for better weather.

Another Friday night downtown Platte City event is on the calendar this week, one week after a block party was forced inside by the threat of rain.

This Friday night, Sept. 16, a new, family friendly happening in the Northland is coming to downtown Platte City from 6-9 p.m.

The event, known as the Platte City Street Market Fair, makes its debut on Main Street in the Downtown Square near the Platte County Courthouse.

It will feature in-home business vendors, handmade artisans and unique crafters, plus your favorite brands. There will be food trucks on the street, face painting, a beer/wine garden and live music.

Platte City Street Market Fair will become a monthly happening in downtown Platte City this fall.

After the initial event on Sept. 16, the Platte City Street Market Fair will make return engagements on Saturday, Oct. 15 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Friday, Nov. 18 from 6-9 p.m.

The Landmark Newpaper, 252 Main Street, will be open late during the Street Fair tongiht for those who want to get four free tickets to the Kansas City Renaissance Festival. A one-year new subscription for only $20 gets you four free tickets to the Renaissance Festival, an $88 value.
