Parkville aldermen Tuesday night approved the hiring of Melissa McChesney as city clerk.
McChesney will take over the position on July 29 of this year and earn a salary of $46,500 per year.
According to the hiring ordinance, McChesney will begin her employment with 10 vacation days.
The board also approved a measure to make Lauren Palmer, city administrator, the interim city clerk until McChesney starts at the end of July.
Claudia Willhite, the former city clerk, retired earlier this year. The interim city clerk, Tracy Sisney, resigned from her job on July 12, creating vacancies in both positions.
