Jack Campbell will be retiring at the end of this year, after serving as city campbellattorney for the City of Parkville for 29 years.
Campbell took on the position of city attorney on Jan. 1, 1983. Along with his long career as city attorney for the City of Parkville he has worked as an attorney with Polsinelli Shughart, specializing in the area of labor and employment law.
In a phone interview with The Landmark, Campbell stated that following the conclusion of two pending lawsuits which are set to go to trail early next year, he plans on retiring from Polsinelli Shughart after serving over thirty nine years as an attorney.
Campbell was recently awarded with the Order of the Coif Honorary Initiate at the University of Missouri’s Law Day. In 1981, Jack Campbell was elected to the House of Representatives. He has also served on the American Judicature Societies board of directors, as well as a chairman for the Young Lawyers Section of the Missouri Bar.
As reported in last week’s Landmark, the Parkville Board of Aldermen announced that it has selected three potential law firms to represent the City of Parkville. Those firms include White Goss Bowers March Schulte and Weisenfels; Stinson Morrision Hecker LLP; and King Hershey.
Campbell stated that Polsinelli Shughart was not considered as a potential law firm given that no other practicing attorney at the firm specializes in municipal law.
Campbell told The Landmark that he knew most of the attorneys in the selected law firms and was confident that the city would select a knowledgeable and experienced firm.
Campbell obtained a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Missouri in 1967 and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Missouri in 1970.
