Bay says he remains a Parkville resident

Swirling rumors that Parkville alderman Jeffrey Bay has sold his home and moved out of Parkville can apparently be put to rest, at least for the time being.

Bay told The Landmark that while it’s true that his house is under contract to be sold, he has not left Parkville

On Tuesday, the Platte County Recorder of Deeds office confirmed for The Landmark that while the deed for Bay’s residence at 6109 Vardon Drive was released in January, probably indicating that it had been paid off, the deed for the home has not been transferred to another owner.

“I’d like not to leave Parkville,” said Bay, adding that he was trying to downsize and looking at the possibility of moving into one of the townhomes in The National.

Mayor Gerald Richardson said that while he’d understood that Bay has had his house on the market, he wouldn’t expect Bay to move out of Parkville without saying anything.

“As far as I know, he’s still living in Parkville and planning to continue to serve as alderman in his work,” said Richardson.

The Landmark had received multiple phone calls from Parkville residents over the past two weeks who questioned whether Bay still in fact is residing within the city.

Bay said he believes his term as an alderman ends in April, 2012.
