Hoffman received 251 votes or 59.76 percent of the votes cast and Seward received 169 votes or 40.24 percent. Voter turnout was 35.1 percent in the city.

“I’d like to thank everyone who supported me,” said Hoffman. “I am extremely excited to serve as mayor. I’d like to reassure the people who didn’t vote for me that I am completely open to listening to their concerns and ideas for Weston. I will make decisions that are in the best interest of the community. I would like to thank Cindy for being a good mayor the last two years.”

Seward was unavailable for comment by deadline for this story.

In the Ward 1 alderman election, C.R. Carter won the seat with 95 votes. Sharon Lyons received 67 votes and Tim Suarez had 33 votes. Voter turnout was 35 percent.

Carter had 48.72 percent of the votes cast.

“I am kind of excited,” said Carter. “I am glad the people of Weston chose me. I look forward to the next two years and working with the residents and employees.”

Lyons had 34.36 percent of the votes.

“(Carter) will be a good alderman, he knows a lot of people,” said Lyons. “These are good changes for Weston. I met a lot of people and it has been very enjoyable.”

Suarez received 16.92 percent of the votes.

“It is disappointing I lost, but I wish them all well,” said Suarez. “I would like to thank everyone who supported me. We’ll see next time; maybe I’ll give it another try.”

Alderman Bob Moore was unopposed for the Ward 2 alderman seat and received 189 votes or 98.44 percent of the votes cast. Turnout in the Ward 2 election was 35.2 percent.
