Keith L. Robinson, 48, allegedly entered the house through the unlocked front door and pushed the woman down, tore off her clothes, and attempted to rape her.

Houston Lake man charged in shooting

Platte County Prosecutor Eric Zahnd said his office charged Robinson with first degree burglary, attempted forcible rape, and forcible sodomy following an investigation by the Weston Police Department and Platte County Sheriff’s Department.

According to court documents, Robinson initially approached the victim at about 6:45 a.m. on Tuesday. He allegedly asked her whether she needed any landscaping work done. The woman declined, and Robinson left.

Robinson allegedly returned a short time later and entered the house through the unlocked front door. A five-year-old girl was in the front room of the house when Robinson entered.

Robinson then allegedly locked the door behind him and took off all of his clothes except his boxer shorts.

Robinson then found the woman in a downstairs bathroom. He allegedly pushed the woman into a bathtub, tore off her shorts and shirt, and touched her inappropriately.

The woman yelled for help and kicked and punched at Robinson. Robinson then left the house and was arrested by a Weston police officer after a short foot chase.

Zahnd said, “Rapes where a stranger enters a woman’s home are rare. However, we always encourage people to lock their doors, even in usually peaceful small-town neighborhoods like this one.”

Robinson is being held in the Platte County Jail in lieu of a $150,000 cash only bond. If convicted of the charges against him, he faces up to life in prison. The case against Robinson is being personally prosecuted by Zahnd and Assistant Prosecutor Robin Threlkeld.
