As exclusively reported in last week’s Landmark, Amy Hubbard is the new city clerk for Platte City.

Hubbard was officially hired last Wednesday evening in a special meeting of the board of aldermen. By a unanimous vote, the aldermen approved city administrator Keith Moody’s recommendation to hire Hubbard.

The board approved her rate of pay to be $17.50 per hour.

Hubbard has been with the city for slightly more than 10 years. She began as a municipal court clerk, then six months later moved to the position of collector, a spot she held until last week’s hire as clerk.

Hubbard replaces Tanya Bates, who recently resigned to spend more time with her family. Bates had served as clerk for nearly 10 years.

Hubbard and her husband reside in rural Platte County near Smithville.
