Parkville police officers were dispatched to a residence in the 9000 block of NW 60th St. to the report that a woman had been raped, early last Wednesday morning.

The alleged rape victim, a 23-year-old woman, called the Platte County Sheriff’s Department emergency-911 operator at about 12:38 a.m. to make the report.

The rape allegedly occurred in the same residence that the call came from in Parkville.

Parkville Police officers have tentatively classified the investigation as an “acquaintance rape,” because the alleged victim had met the alleged rapist earlier in the evening, said Sgt. Eric Sligar, of the Parkville Police Department.

Police officers have conducted multiple interviews in their investigation of the reported rape.

A rape kit has been administered and will be mailed to a testing laboratory this week, Sligar said.

There was no evident bodily trauma to the alleged victim, Sligar said.
