A Weston, Mo., man was indicted by a federal grand jury for being in possession of child pornography.
Clifton L. Swift, 48, of Weston, was charged in a two-count indictment returned by a federal grand jury in Kansas City.
Count One of the federal indictment alleges that on June 5, 2003, Swift was in possession of one or more films, videotapes, or other matter which contained child pornography.
Count Two of the federal indictment is a forfeiture count, which would require Swift to forfeit to the government any matter containing child pornography, as well as any property used to commit the offense alleged in Count One, including five computers, four computer hard drives, and 11 floppy computer disks.
U.S. Attorney Todd Graves cautioned that the charges contained in the indictment are simply accusations, and not evidence of guilt. Evidence supporting the charges must be presented to a federal trial jury, whose duty is to determine guilt or innocence.
This case is being prosecuted by Special Assistant U.S. Attorney Miller Leonard. It was investigated by the Weston, Mo., Police Department and the Regional Computer Forensics Crime Laboratory.
