Replacements set for board at dearborn

Replacements are in place to fill two openings on the Dearborn Board of Aldermen.

Mayor Marvin Landes this week said he will be appointing Delba McAuley and Bill Brooks to fill the two openings created by the recent resignations of Frank Downing, Jr. and Steve Counts. The four member board has been reduced to two after the resignations.

McAuley, the former Delba Denny, has previous experience on the board.

Landes said he’ll make the appointments at a meeting Thursday night. After the new members are sworn in, the full board will hold a meeting set to begin at 7 p.m. at Dearborn’s city hall.

In other matters, Landes said the city will be getting a $300,000 park grant from Platte County. He said the city has plans to build a new park and ball field. The city’s current park is located in Buchanan County and the city is prohibited from spending Platte County’s tax money on land located in Buchanan County.
