Platte City Board of Aldermen met in executive session Tuesday night to discuss a proposal for a joint park project from Platte County.
Platte City Mayor Dave Brooks told The Landmark Wednesday morning he couldn’t discuss issues from the executive session. Brooks expects another meeting with county officials on the proposal will take place before anything is decided on or announced.
Other agenda items include the approval of the budget goals and objectives for the fiscal year 2003 by the Platte City Board of Aldermen.
The fiscal year begins Nov. 1 and ends Oct. 31, 2003.
A special ordinance authorizing an agreement with KCBB, Inc. ensuring the completion of public improvements was passed.
The agreement is with Eckerd Drug Store for its new location. The agreement will require the future installation of improvements to prohibit left turns into and out of the Kentucky entrance of Platte Valley Plaza by creating a right out/right in only entrance.
The improvements will not be made until traffic flow and patterns adjacent to the property require the improvements.
A $8,190 letter of credit was established by Eckerd with the city to cover the expenses of the future improvements.
Aldermen also approved an ordinance authorizing the mayor to enter in a city surplus property agreement with the City of North Kansas City.
The agreement is to transfer ownership of nine park benches and five trash receptacles from North Kansas City to Platte City.
There is no fee for the property.
