Quarterback Club will hold golf tournament

T​he Pirate Quarterback Club will be hosting its 7th annual golf tournament at Shiloh Springs Golf Course east of Platte City on Friday, July 26. It will be a four person scramble event, set to begin at 1 p.m. with registration at noon.

Entry is $70 per person. If you do not have a complete team and would like to participate, call Greg Jaros at 858-2822 or 464-2836. Hole sponsorships are also available to businesses, and monetary contributions for prizes are also welcomed.

The end of an era

The Pirate Quarterback Club is a non-profit organization whose primary function is supporting the Platte County Pirate football program in various areas where additional support is needed. Members and volunteers include parents, community businesses and fans.

Things the club helps provide include: team barbecue during summer camp; 7 on 7 tournaments during the summer; players’ names on jerseys; decals for helmets; team pre-game meal at home games; refreshments for team at home and away games; refreshment for opposing team at Pirate home games; and miscellaneous support as required during the football season.
