The Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission has awarded a $19.5 million contract to expand Route 152 and add an interchange at Green Hills Road in Platte County.

Clarkson Construction Company should begin work in July. The project will expand Route 152 to two lanes in each direction on either side of Green Hills Road, and add a full-diamond interchange at Green Hills Road and a half-diamond interchange at Ambassador Drive. When the work is complete by early 2004, Route 152 will be a divided four-lane facility between I-29 in Platte County and I-35 in Clay County.

The full-diamond interchange will replace the temporary signals at Green Hills Road, where a new bridge will go over the expanded Route 152. New bridges on Route 152 will go over Line Creek Parkway and Ambassador Drive.

Green Hills Road will be closed south of Route 152 during construction, with north-south traffic detoured to Route 169. Green Hills Road will remain open north of Route 152.

More than $8 million in Tax Increment Financing funds are being used to construct the project.
