One of Kansas City’s favorite holiday destinations is back with a full lineup of free, festive fun from a lighting ceremony to themed pop-ups, a cozy holiday crawl, and endless photo-worthy moments.
Zona Rosa is a mixed use urban town center located at the northwest corner of I-29 and Barry Road in Platte County.
Celebrate in the Northland’s Zona Rosa all season long with community events, shopping, and nonstop holiday magic.
In addition to events, Zona Rosa is warming up holiday givebacks and charity partnerships to support the local community. Zona Rosa is partnering with The Salvation Army and the Give Machine to help spread holiday cheer to those in need. Plus, offering 10 days of Holiday GIFTaways social media contests for the chance to win gift cards, hot holiday gifts, and more from December 1 through December 12, 2025.
HOLIDAY LIGHTING CEREMONY Saturday, November 22, 2025 | 4:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m. Location: North Park
Celebrate the start of the holiday season with the annual Holiday Lighting Ceremony at Zona Rosa presented by Saint Luke’s North Hospital. The event will light up the night sky with Zona Rosa’s 44’ grand holiday tree that will be displayed all season long, along with its classic Kansas City crowns. Santa will make his grand arrival at 6 p.m. to officially light the Grand Christmas Tree and illuminate the crowns for the season. Plus, enjoy live performances, photo opportunities, special appearances, and more.

NEW Shop Small Stroll Saturday, November 29, 10am – 4pm
Shop small, stroll happy. Make plans to visit Zona Rosa for a one-stop destination to support Small Business Saturday for a day of local love and holiday shopping at participating stores.
Zona Rosa is home to over 40 small shops and businesses such as ADHDIY Craft Cafe, Pink Dinosaur, rOOTS, Annie Austen, Shop Len, Team Cocktail, The Babe Standard, Toy Time, and more. Visit all participating businesses and you could win a $200 shopping spree.
PJ PARTY CRAWL Saturday, December 6, 2025 | 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Put on your holiday pajamas and bring the entire family for a special celebration in the Northland. Walk around Zona Rosa and visit participating businesses for a special family-friendly holiday activity at each stop. Punch cards will be provided to encourage people to visit all shops to redeem a FREE classic children’s holiday book at The Rink and a special offer for a photo with Santa.

Presented by Annie Austen, Indoorsy: A Weekend Market is a seasonal rotating pop-up experience celebrating Kansas City’s incredible small business community. This is your one-stop, indoor destination to shop small featuring a unique mix of local merchants and Zona Rosa favorites. The 17,000-square-foot market will transform into a cozy, winter-inspired shopping destination, featuring a fresh vendor lineup each month, themed activations, samples, and special promotions. Plus a Zona Rosa coupon map to guide visitors through the center.

Angel Tree with Salvation Army | Nov. 17 – Dec. 17
Help make the holiday hopeful with the Angel Tree with Salvation Army located inside of The Grove at Zona Rosa. Stop by to take a tag from the tree inside The Grove and bring back an unwrapped gift for children in need.
Giving Machine Host Site | Nov. 28
Zona Rosa will officially be one of the featured host sites with two Giving Machines visiting for a pop-up on Black Friday to give back for a great cause. One hundred percent of the proceeds go to the designated local charities.
In addition to holiday events, Zona Rosa continues to be a destination for Black Friday Deals on Friday, Nov. 28.
