FOOD AND CRAFTS
The annual Northland Ethnic Festival is scheduled for Saturday, April 12 at Maple Woods Community College, 2601 NW Barry Road.
The free event is from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with some of the events outdoors, weather permitting.
Food and some crafts will be for sale.
The mission/goal of this event continues to be “to increase awareness and appreciation for cultural and ethnic diversity our community.”
KC Ethnic Enrichment Commissions registered to date with food, crafts and performances include:
Bolivia, China, Colombia, Czech/Slovak, Eritrea, Germany, Indonesia, Ireland, Jamaica, Kenya, Laos, Lebanon, Malaysia, Palestine, Peru, Samoa, Sudan, Switzerland Tahiti, Taiwan, Thailand, The Gambia, The Philippines, Trinidad Tobago, Ukraine.
Displays from related community groups, such as several International Exchange programs, Black African America Ancestors, Banneker School, Northland Pride, International Relations Council, Jewish Vocational Services, Puppetry Arts Institute, Midwest Genealogy
Mid-Continent Library System, Maple Woods Community College, KC Ethnic Enrichment Commission, with financial support from KC Neighborhood Tourism Enhancement Program makes this community celebration possible.
