EDGERTON RESIDENT WAS BORN AND RAISED NEAR WESTON
Jim Bosch, a lifelong Platte County resident, has announced his candidacy for collector of revenue in the Aug. 4 primary election.
Born and raised on a tobacco farm outside of Weston, Bosch has deep roots in the community. For the past 30 years, he and his family have called Edgerton home.
“I am proud to have grown up and raised my family in Platte County,” Bosch said. “If entrusted with your vote, I promise to serve as a trustworthy steward of the people’s tax dollars. I will work closely with the assessor’s office and the clerk’s office to ensure efficient collection and proper distribution of revenues.”
Bosch pledged to prioritize accessible and responsive service.
“I will provide quality customer service and offer more convenient office hours for the working public,” he stated.
Bosch also addressed a recent decision made by Platte County’s elected officials. He noted that several, including the outgoing collector, approved a measure to increase their own base salaries by 30%. At the same time, other county employees received only a 2.5% cost-of-living increase.
“I disagree with the 30% increase in base salary as it flies in the face of any idea of fiscal responsibility,” Bosch said. “My focus will always be on fairness and fiscal responsibility to the taxpayers of Platte County.”
