EXPERIENCED IN FINANCE, REAL ESTATE
Longtime Platte County resident, CPA, and business executive Dale Brouk has announced that he is running for presiding commissioner of Platte County, offering voters a steady, experienced leader focused on fiscal responsibility, efficient government, and smart economic growth.
Brouk enters the race with more than 35 years of experience in finance, real estate, and organizational leadership, including serving as a certified public accountant and chief financial officer for major companies. His campaign is centered on protecting taxpayers, limiting the size of government, supporting public safety, and ensuring Platte County continues to grow responsibly.
“Platte County deserves leadership that respects taxpayers, listens to residents, and focuses on results, not bureaucracy,” Brouk said. “I’m running to bring a common-sense, business-minded approach to county government and to ensure we are planning for the future while protecting what makes our community strong today.”
Brouk’s professional career began with the international accounting firm KPMG Peat Marwick before moving into senior financial leadership roles in real estate development and operations. His background as a CPA and CFO has given him extensive experience managing large budgets, improving efficiency, and ensuring accountability, skills he says are critical for overseeing county finances.
“Dale has built his life around the values of integrity, hard work, and respect for others. His unique combination of financial acumen and genuine commitment to the communities and people of Platte County has been evident throughout the more than 20 years I have known him. Platte County is fortunate to have talented, principled individuals like Dale Brouk who are willing to contribute their time and expertise in service of making our community stronger,” said Chad Earwood, founder/CEO of Engaged Companies.
In addition to his financial expertise, Brouk brings decades of experience in real estate development, construction, and operations — experience that provides a practical understanding of infrastructure, buildings, and long-term planning.
“Dale has been directly involved in building and managing large-scale projects, so he understands what it takes to plan, budget, and execute infrastructure the right way,” said Alicia Stephens, Northlander of the Year. “That kind of real-world experience will be invaluable as Platte County continues to grow and invest in roads, facilities, and public assets.”
Brouk and his wife, Elaine, have lived in Platte County since 2003 and have been deeply involved in the community. He has served in leadership roles with organizations including the Parkville Area Chamber of Commerce, Platte County Economic Development Council, and NBKC Bank, and founded a nonprofit organization, Generosity USA, that has raised more than $400,000 for local food pantries.
“Smart economic growth doesn’t happen by accident,” Brouk said. “It requires leadership that understands business, respects taxpayers, and plans ahead. We need to continue attracting jobs and investment while making sure we preserve the quality of life that makes Platte County such a great place to live.”
He noted that Platte County’s unique mix of suburban growth and agricultural heritage requires balanced leadership that listens to all parts of the community.
His campaign will be rooted in core conservative principles, including:
·Responsible spending — protecting taxpayers and limiting the growth of government
·Efficient, accountable government — ensuring county operations deliver results without waste or bureaucracy
·Support for law enforcement and public safety — maintaining safe communities across Platte County
·Infrastructure investment — prioritizing roads, transportation, and long-term planning
“I’ve spent the last several months talking with residents across the county, and one thing is clear — people want a leader who is accessible, who listens first, and who brings people together,” Brouk said. “That’s the kind of leadership I will bring as presiding commissioner.”
Brouk closed his announcement with a principle that has guided his career: “If serving is beneath you, leadership is beyond you.”
