Nissa Rae Hancock of Platte City and James Calvin True of Carbon, Indiana were united in marriage at 7 p.m. on July 22, 1995 at the First Baptist Church in Platte City. The bride is the daughter of Michael and Joyce Hancock of Platte City. She is a 1989 graduate of Platte County R-3 High School and received her bachelor’s degree in child development and her master’s degree in elementary education from Northeast Missouri State University.
Platte County Prosecuting Attorney Todd P. Graves has charged the Culinary Workers Union Local 226 of Las Vegas, Nev. with an infraction for failing to file an expenditure report with the Platte County Board of Elections. Approximately one week before the Aug. 2, 1994 election, registered voters in Parkville received in the mail a letter and videotape which opposed the gaming issue. According to the records of the Platte County Board of Elections, no timely disclosure of expenditures was made by the Culinary Workers Union Local 226. The union failed to report within 14 days the expenses they incurred for production and mailing their letter and videotape.
