They were at the Papakolea Green Sand Beach. “It’s one of our favorite places to visit because it is so unique,” Jamie said. Papakōlea Green Sand Beach, also known as Green Sand Beach, is a unique and stunning beach located on the southern tip of the Big Island of Hawaii. Its distinctive green color comes from olivine crystals, a mineral found in lava flows, which are abundant in the area’s volcanic cinder cone. The beach is one of only four green sand beaches in the world, making it a popular geological wonder for visitors. Headed somewhere noteworthy?
