EDITOR:
On behalf of the officers and members of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4055, I would like to extend our sincere thanks to the Platte City community for their generous support during the Fourth of July celebration.
Thanks to the kindness of local residents, we received $280.95 in donations. These community contributions help us fulfill our mission of service by directly funding:
·Grants to Veterans-in-Need, covering critical expenses such as housing, utility bills, car repairs, and food assistance.
·Our annual Student Essay Contest Awards, including the Voice of Democracy for high school students and Patriot’s Pen for middle school students, which promote civic awareness and patriotism.
·Honor Guard services for veteran funerals, flag ceremonies, and POW recognition events throughout Platte County.
We are honored to serve, and we are grateful for the continued support of the Platte City community. Your generosity ensures we can stand ready to assist veterans and uphold the values of service and remembrance.
