The City of Platte City is launching on an ambitious endeavor: creating both the Downtown Plan and Parks and Recreation Master Plan simultaneously.
By coordinating these planning processes, the plans will complement and reinforce one another, leading to a stronger Platte City for all residents and visitors, city officials say.
The Downtown Plan will be a guide to enhancing the streetscapes and facades, improving connectivity to and within downtown, identifying new housing opportunities, increasing economic development, promoting redevelopment, and more.
The Parks and Recreation Master Plan will evaluate all the existing parks, trails, green spaces, and recreational facilities. Also, it will include recommendations for enhancing the city’s existing amenities and proposing new park and recreation features.
The City of Platte City, along with the consulting team of RDG Planning & Design, BHC, and Venice Communications, have scheduled two pop-up events in advance of the Design Studio open to the public to gather input for both plans through a fun, interactive visioning process.
The public is encouraged to stop by the City of Platte City booth at either of these pop-up events as well as the Design Studio to learn more about the projects and share your ideas.
Here is the schedule –
