Central Bank Sporting Complex

Tuesday, April 11 was the official grand opening of the Central Bank Sporting Complex. Located at the northwest corner of Highway 152 and North Platte Purchase Drive in Kansas City’s Northland, Central Bank Sporting Complex features 10 synthetic turf fields designed for year-round use by soccer, baseball, softball, flag football and lacrosse teams as well as a wide range of other activities, events and programming through  Sporting Fields + Athletics. All 10 fields are lighted and the complex includes 1,000 convenient parking spaces and a fieldhouse with first aid. In addition, Central Bank Sporting Complex offers on-site amenities for guests with the installation of two state-of-the-art playgrounds – highlighted by an inclusive playground and power soccer court in partnership with Variety Children’s Charity of Greater Kansas City – as well as two large esplanades with extensive shade and two grab-and-go concession stands with restrooms. The 76-acre, tournament-quality complex is the focal point of an anticipated $375-million, multi-phase development on 492 acres within Twin Creeks Village. Major components of the mixed-use project include a campus for the Platte County R-3 School District, single and multi-family housing units, and commercial space for retail, office, restaurant, hotel and entertainment destinations. A 10-minute drive from Kansas City International Airport for out-of-town visitors, Twin Creeks Village is projected to stimulate $2.26 billion in sales over a 30-year period after completion, which combined with the economic activity at the adjacent Costco location would generate an estimated $505.5 million in sales tax revenues during that time span, economic development officials say.
