At about 6:25 p.m. Thursday evening, an Amazon delivery truck became stuck on the railroad tracks near the Humphreys Road and Hwy. 45 intersection in Platte County after it attempted to cross over the tracks far to the left side of the crossing and the front wheels became high centered. Fortunately a loaded southbound train was notified of the situation and was able to come to a stop a mere 300 feet from the Amazon van and avoid a collision. A tow truck was called and safely removed the van. The train’s single headlight can be seen in the background.
